Triangle has worked in some capacity with young people since it was founded in 1988.

Carran Waterfield has led numerous workshop programmes in schools, colleges, theatres and arts centres in the UK and abroad.

Several over-riding principles govern the way we work:

  1. the work with young people is given the same attention and professional commitment as the company's main work
  2. the young people often self-select and are not auditioned
  3. consistent associate artists work on the projects
  4. collaborators are initiated into the method of working
  5. groups have a high artist/young person ratio
  6. projects often operate within a world as opposed to a workshop format
  7. we are committed to the concept of an integrated curriculum

Most recently the company has developed extensive programmes of work for all key stages in off-site settings working with heritage and citizenship themes in an immersive environment. These programmes are specifically designed for interaction between primary and secondary schools.

On these pages are summaries of projects with young people in Triangle's history and current projects that are available.

The company is able to respond to collaborative projects and is particularly interested in working with teachers of all subject areas who would like to learn the company's processes. Please go to our workshop pages for details of our training programmes.
